Hello Everyone!
I am assuming most of you know by now but to those who don't, I am leaving the BarrelHouse Brewing Co. to start on a new adventure with Brewery
Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY. Friday the 21st will be my last day with the
BarrelHouse. I wanted to invite everyone to the new BJ's brewpub in
Tri-county Mall to enjoy a couple of pints together this Wednesday evening,
the 19th. We will start about 7 o'clock and continue on from there. Please
feel free to let your friends know since I don't have everyone's e-mail
address. It's been a great ride and I hope to see everyone there.

Moerlein Barbarossa Double Dark Lager THURSDAY 3/20
Christian Moerlein Brewing Company announced plans for the launch of
its latest year-round beer, Moerlein Barbarossa Double Dark Lager.
Brewed to honor Frederick I, Emperor of Germany, known as Barbarossa
during the 12th century, Moerlein Barbarossa was first brewed in the
mid-1800 by Christian Moerlein Brewing Company’s founder Christian
Moerlein, when he first introduced lager beer toCincinnati. The
ceremonial first keg will be tapped by Mr. Robert L. Pohl, the last
President and CEO of the original Hudepohl Brewing Company, Thursday
March 20th at Arnold’s Bar and Grill in Downtown Cincinnati. CEREMONIAL
FIRST TAPPING PARTY OF MOERLEIN BARBAROSSA DOUBLE DARK LAGER will
happen March 20, 2008, from 5:00 – 9:00PM, at Arnold’s Bar and Grill
located at 210 E. 8th St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. First Tapping
ceremony will happen at 5:30PM sharp. Admission is FREE.
March Beer Madness FRIDAY 3/21
The Bloatarian Brewing League monthly meeting is this Friday at Listermann's. March Beer Madness returns bigger and better than ever. Sixteen commercial beers will compete head to head to determine the true champion. The first round pits stout vs. stout and pale ale vs. pale ale. But after the first round things really start to heat up because you never know who is going to be play against who. Perhaps Colt 45 will return to the final four, or maybe Michelob Ultra, or maybe Chimay Blue. If you have never judged beer according to the BJCP style guidelines, then come down to this meeting for a fun and gentle introduction to beer judging. Tip off starts at 7:30pm.
